this is our rendition behind persona-shadow & human relations since p3 is extremely vague when describing to players. please note that suggested below are flimsy guidelines, not to be followed to the dot.

SUMMONING & MANIFESTATION ( your persona. )
personas are summoned using evokers; to do so without a medium is extremely difficult and taxing, but not impossible. the urge to call it out can be quenched via suppressant but it causes stress, violent fits, fatigue, and other side-effects, sometimes leading to death.
personas have apparition-like forms; they have a physical body that can touch other personas and inanimate objects but pass through humans like ghosts.
since personas are a part of one’s “soul” it can be given a solid body via machinery & experimentation, usually resulting in death. this is nocturne’s forte but they are nowhere close to making anything solid at all.

MIDNIGHT TERROR ( shadows. )
shadows, as described in terminology, are: unawakened personas, personas and their dead partners, or dark hour victims (ie. potentials, civilians, persona-users, etc). they are created and fed by negative feelings such as jealousy, hatred, regret, and anger.
since shadows were born of the dark hour their existence is somewhat one-sided; they have a physical manifestation due to their ‘humanity’ (human souls, human regrets, dead bodies) and an apparition manifestation as part-lost/dead-personas thus enabling attacks dealt by humans and personas to make contact.

HOW TO FIGHT ( encounters. )
attacks dealt by shadows, whether physical or magical, actually hit. this entails punches, kicks, and low-level elementals like agi, bufu, garu resulting in minor scratches, burns, cold hands, etc.
major physical/magical attacks such as tempest slash, bufudyne, instant-death, or almighty-based skills on the other hand are dealt psychologically -- targets feel phantom pains & shocks from the attacks, whether dealt on his/her person or persona.
in relation, all persona attacks toward humans deal damage via phantom pains/nerve shocks to his/her person. this is true for persona-to-persona attacks since users and their personas are linked as “reflections”.
all persona-to-shadow attacks hit full force; hama skills may kills a shadow (it’s a 50/50 attack), an almighty will deal heavy damage, and vorpal blade will probably slice weak shadows to bits just to name a few.
