Yuu is optimistic, and doesn’t let anything get her down—the basic mindset of your average magical girl. However… she really believes herself to be one. Princess Powerful, to be exact. The world always needs saving, and it won’t save itself! She is a champion of love and justice, and won’t let anyone tell her otherwise. This can be grinding to people who aren’t in the mood to play along with her make-believe games.
Yuu is almost completely immersed in her superhero fantasies, and attempts to pull her out of her games tend to… not end well. She can become extremely upset and possibly violent if forcibly put back into reality, slipping into a state of mind she calls “Nega-Yuu.”
All in all, her personality is very genuine, and she truly does want to help those around her. She has a way of twisting situations into her favor, if only in her mind. She usually just stops listening when she doesn’t like what she hears. This leads to a lot of trouble with authority figures, and she’s never been a very good student. Throughout the years, she has had trouble maintaining stable relationships, and moves often. Most of the time, it’s due to people tiring of her games, or Yuu tiring of her “playmates.” She’s always chasing the next new adventure that floats into her head, from battling Lampitrons to going undercover to infiltrate supervillain conferences.
Somewhere, deep down, she realizes she’s denying reality, but she tries to hide and ignore this as much as possible. By remaining disconnected from the world, she disconnects herself from hardship and loneliness.

ADDITIONAL NOTES,

Yuu’s parents work at a television station, and she was often left alone when she was young. She got a lot of promotional action figures from her parent’s station, and never really grew out of playing with them. Her fantasies reached such a point that her parents sought help, but after several failed attempts at therapy, they decided to send her off to live with a friend of the family in Iwatodai. Her imagination isn’t hurting anyone, but her parents couldn’t juggle her and their jobs now any more than they could back when she was a child.

She brings the world around her into her daydreams, including the people. To her, everyone is a superhero or villain, and she’ll assign them hero names.
