PERSONALITY,

Lewis is a lot of things. He's charismatic, sociable, often humorous, and the kind of guy who normally just likes to get people to laugh. He's often immature but knows when to switch gears and can quickly go from comedian to one of the most serious people around. He tries to cater to everyone - or at least the important people. He's not the brightest guy in the world and is pretty slow in most academic things, but he's a fast, clever thinker when he needs to be, can reveal a few gems of wisdom on occasion, and is pretty observant. Furthermore, he's a loyal and determined ally. He's a good listener. Lewis has a strong sense of right and wrong. He's pretty brave but he's got his limits like everyone else.

There's a few negative traits in there, of course. Not being too bright is gonna play against you. He's cocky and has been known to pick fights he can't win. He's got a tendency to bottle up his problems. He's stubborn, quickly angered, and aggressive to boot. He's loud and smartassed - you could say those are his most prominent characteristics, even. Lewis can also be plenty judgmental. He's also pretty cynical.

Lewis carries a Glock 17 handgun. As such, he has to keep his distance in combat. However he's primarily an offensive fighter. He'll fire to halt an enemy's advance, make them run for cover or think twice about attacking. He's used to constantly keeping on the move and running back and all over, never staying one place. Defensively he's not so good but he's got pretty quick reflexes for dodging a blow. His biggest problem is, of course, up close he's done for. He chose a Glock because its polymer design gives it a more porcelain and ceramic feel as opposed to the metal evoker, keeping him from getting mixed up if he's ever that dumb in the heat of battle. Also, his philosophy is that the guy who brings a gun to a sword fight will always be the winner.
If disarmed, he can hold his own okay with his fists - but he's far less experienced and much clumsier.
His persona he's somewhat conservative with, and still getting used to fighting with - as such he's more apt to have in a support role, using it to supplement his assaults or those of his allies, rather than as the main fighting force.

ADDITIONAL NOTES,

Some history. Lewis was the product of an odd romance. His father was a soldier stationed in Okinawa and his mother was a Belgian accountant working abroad. They met a couple of times, had a fling, and thought that would be it, until his mother-to-be angered the Yakuza by embezzling money from one of their front businesses. For protection, she seeked safety with his father; being the wife of an American soldier would certainly make the Yakuza think twice about attacking her since it would obviously provoke great attention and a swift response. The man would have been reluctant to enter a relationship so quickly but he did the right thing and they became engaged; the Yakuza backed off for the time being. Over a few months they developed true feelings for each other, and had a son. Things were looking well.
Then Lewis's father was killed in a helicopter crash. His grieving mother, knowing that she was in danger, prepared to leave and return to Europe. The gangsters got to her first. The orphaned Lewis was placed in a series of orphanages and foster homes until he got accepted on a scholarship program to Gekkoukan - not because of his mediocre grades, but a diversity program. Or it could be because they found out his persona awakened when he was seventeen - and when he woke up after it happened, he found his brown hair had turned white.
All told, his first decade-and-a-half was pretty mundane despite being an orphan from when he was six months old. He's visited his family in America a few times and so's got a pretty good grip on both Japanese and American culture. The past isn't something he dwells on - he wonders what kind of person he'd be had his parents lived and wonders what his parents were like since he has no memories, and the whole incident gave him a strong sense of justice (and contributed to his cynical outlook on the world), but otherwise he doesn't dwell much on it.
