GENERAL RULES ( the simple ones, commonsense. )
burn my dread is a non-canon p3 rpg, most concepts taken and/or adapted from the game with new elements introduced by staff. unfortunately, this is non-profit so boo hoo for us.
site literacy aims for semi-literate stressing the “quality over quantity” rule. we don’t ask for 1k posts, nor do we tolerate one-liners, a paragraph minimum is encouraged.
this site is rated teen or pg-13; for anything detailed feel free to use the ‘fade-to-black’ trick or vague descriptions, doesn’t matter. please don’t post questionable pictures and/or links, use msn for that.
graphics, mostly signatures and other misc pictures, should range around the 500-550px width limit so the board doesn’t stretch; the image-size limiting code is not being used here. furthermore, icons should be 100x100 standard sizing -- remember to put in the dimensions prompted in your user accounts to fix ‘squishy’ images. also, make sure all images on your account pertain to your character only.
for advertisements please keep it to the plug board, not the cbox or via pm (unless a member specifically asks), and make sure you aren’t double posting; doubles will be deleted. affiliate rules are located in the ad boards.
this is a no brainer: respect one another & staff. don’t be an arse, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if things escalate please take it to pm or msn, just away from the board. in staff’s case, if you think we’ve unfairly judged you please pm us and we’ll reason it out asap.
if you have no knowledge regarding p3 elements please read all the information threads to get a feel, or watch youtube videos -- whatever floats your boat. for questions don’t hesitate to ask members or staff. [/justify][/blockquote]

CHARACTERIZATION ( while applying. )
we have no character limit, aside a 3:1 user/potential-civilian ratio, though we ask that you try to be active on all accounts. all members have until an activity check to finish their applications whilst characters with ‘claims’ (ie. personas, alliance positions, shadow arcana, etc) are given one month to finish or said claims become free-for-all once more. for finished wip characters post in the notification thread so staff can review your app. once accepted please change your name to FIRST NAME, SURNAME in caps. face claims are mandatory of an anime/manga/game nature; game faces should retain anime-like qualities, ie. final fantasy. persona face claims are broader: anime/manga/game, cartoon/drawings, or plain descriptions -- just no real life images. please give credit for original artwork. face claim changes are allowed, just notify staff and make sure it’s a free claim before doing so to avoid doubles/future problems. in relation to the above: p3/fes face claims may be used for original characters but we’ll be critical in reviewing your app to check for similarities to their canon counterparts. versions one & one-point-five members have two choices: re-apply their characters or remake them. ROLE-PLAY ( a few pointers. )
as aforementioned paragraph minimum posts, or 100 words are encouraged. grammar is not a super big deal but make sure your partner can understand what you’re saying without much deciphering. in addition, proboards has a spell-check function, use it.
make sure that your dialogue colour doesn’t blind users on new skins, word of advice: pick two shades for light & dark skins. this also applies for post templates, i guess.
death is enabled but make sure to plan it out with your partner and notify staff where and when. don’t godmod, power & metaplay, and the likes. in short: you are not omnipotent, omniscient, or omnibenevolent.
try to be active, even if it’s just games; us on staff will also try to do the same so it’s fair for both sides. if you plan to go mia please inform us so accounts aren’t accidentally deleted during activity checks.

THE CHATBOX ( gin the cbox. )
avatar sizes should be around 45x45 but no one really checks, just make sure your icon is 100x100 so resizing doesn’t make it look squishy or microscopic.
no spamming, whether it be for new posts, to check your app, or ad links. you can advertise your character, i suppose, just don’t be annoying about it.
no advertising. it's just unprofessional and annoying.

EXTRA NOTES ( what doesn't fit. )
member bans/suspensions will be given out on the fly. there’s no system: we give you the verdict & reasons. how do you defend against the claims? listening to our warnings via pm.
activity checks are conducted whenever staff aren’t being lazy, usually two months give or take. (apps and such are stored, not deleted.)
once again, rules are subjected to change, we’ll give you guys & gals heads up.
